The association is a non-profit organization which is running the German School of Bucharest.

The members of the association elect the board. Each member of the board is elected for a period of 2 years.

The board manages the financial, economical and legal issues of the DSBU. The headmaster of the school
is responsible for all pedagogic matters and contents. Decisions about the staff are taken by mutual agreement.
