of crèche and kindergarten of the German School of Bucharest DSBU

The German School of Bucharest warmly welcomes you and your child in our institution.
We are working family-supplementing and by supporting assistance advancing your child
in a holistic/integral way. (Intercultural) cooperation is very important for us.
In order to provide that everyone is abiding by the rules we
present you in the following our House rules.

Politeness, greeting and a respectful contact are taken as granted in our institution.

On behalf of your child and its development our institution ought to be attended regularly.

Our schedules

  • Opening hours:

    Crèche: daily 8 a.m. - 15 p.m. from Monday to Friday
    Kindergarten: daily 8 a.m. - 17 p.m. from Monday to Friday

  • Time of resting:

    Crèche: 12.00 - 14.30 p.m.
    Kindergarten: 12.30 - 14.30 p.m.

  • Time for bringing: Your child ought to be brought daily between 8 - 9 a.m. to our institution and been given to the particular responsible person in charge at the entrance door to the kindergarten/crèche. With it the duty of supervision begins. We ask for punctuality, otherwise our pedagogical activities will be disturbed.
  • Time for picking up: If your child is picked up, it tidies up and says good-bye. The authorized person who picks up the child is waiting in front of the entrance door to the kindergarten until the child will be brought there. From the time when, the parents are responsible again and our time of supervision is ending. The stated times of care and supervision have to be maintained. Delays have to be announced immediately in our institution.
  • Times for calling: The DSBU office can be called daily 9 a.m. - 17 p.m. from Monday to Friday with the number  021-2106070.
That there is no time for care for and work with the children missed out, it is possible to call at the following times
    - in crèche between 8 - 9 a.m. and 12.45 - 13.15 p.m. and
    - in kindergarten between 8 - 9 a.m., 11 a.m. - 12 and from 12.45 p.m. on.
  • Time for discussion: Appointments with the respective educator or head of crèche/kindergarten may be arranged at any time. In case of misunderstandings or controversial issues we kindly ask you to first address the respective group leader in order to look together for a solution instead of involving other parents.

Whenever our institution is hosting any kind of events such as festivals, parties, parent-teacher gatherings etc. the parent or adult escort remains entirely responsible for the supervision of his/her child/children.

On 1 or 2 occasional days during the year our institution will remain closed due to pedagogical staff training. These particular dates will be announced in a timely manner.

Absenteeism in case of illness or vacation

In the event that a child/children is/are absent, due to illness, vacation with parents etc., the heads of crèche/kindergarten have to be announced in a timely manner. Furthermore, before the child is to attend our institution again, we kindly ask for a notification.

The educators have to be informed about nightly indisposition, vomiting, temperature, vaccinations etc. as well as other medication. By doing so, the educator has to be given the possibility to asses the situation and consider the possible danger for other children. The educators reserve their right to send the respective children back home.

If your child had temperature beyond 38,5° C, it has to be fever-less at least 24 hours before attending our institution again.

With regards to any infectious disease, also in the family – the head of crèche/kindergarten has to be informed immediately. Before revisiting our institution a medical certificate on total recovery after an infectious disease is required.

Medication (including cough syrop) will not be administered by our staff! A child, who is on antibiotics, continues to be sick and is better to rest at home. Exceptions can be made in case of chronic diseases, with the consent of the head of crèche/kindergarten, the written approval of a physician and the written consent of the parent.

Additional remarks

Your child has to be dressed according to weather conditions.

Your child needs slippers for inside, clothes for sport, a change of clothes, rubber boots, mud and rain trousers and a rain coat. If it sleeps in our institution, it needs a pyjama, a pillow and a blanket.

Arrangement and tidiness are important to us, therefore the belongings of a child (all clothes, shoes, bedclothes …) should be marked with the name of the child to avoid mix-ups or to put back lost objects.

Toys from home can only be brought on the pre-announced “toy day” in the kindergarten (every 2nd. and 4th. Wednesday in a month). This is not valid for the crèche. In the crèche the child/children may bring only one familiar object/toy during the first weeks of attending the crèche, which allows the child to have something familiar at hand. According to our experience toys from home will get lost or broken.

Our institution is not liable for any valuables or any objects brought from home for that matter. Lost objects which were found and not taken back by the owner will be in the possession of our institution after one year.
